Design and Display

When it comes to design, Samsung has played it safe with the back panel, so much so that the Awesome Lime color variant has no offering. This of course is an opinion and would not be the same for everyone. Other color variants also exist including black, violet and a silver version available in some regions.

Though it is reasonable to say that 90Hz and 120Hz are not worlds apart and perhaps 90Hz would have been suitable for the phone and its performance. With an advantage called Vision Booster, which was first introduced with the Galaxy S22, the screen can reach as much as 1000 nits which is the maximum brightness needed for outdoor visibility. The display also uses Corning Gorilla Glass 5, which offers extra protection.

Performance

Get ready to behold the gorgeous performance of the Galaxy A34 5G, Android 13 with One UI 5.1 is installed in the phone together with other features synonymous with Samsung’s premium devices. The handset does not seem to pack Samsung DeX but all other features of One UI 5.0 and One UI 5.1 are here and we shall explain them in the videos down below. Camera

Let us turn our attention to the camera for the next few moments. First, let’s discuss the secondary rear cameras, ie the ultra-wide and macro cameras. The 8MP ultra-wide camera does well in the daylight, and produces outrageous images at night, but its 8MP resolution is quite wanting for ultra-wide shots. It is advisable to use the dedicated Night mode when photographing at night. The 5MP macro camera has a low megapixel rating and does not have autofocusing features, therefore it is hard to tell when an object is in focus, and even if one is able to do that, very little detail is resolved, especially during night photography.

Now let’s go to the interesting cameras. In most cases, the 48MP rear main camera produces high quality images and video (limited to 4K@30 frames per second) while providing a good depth and dynamic range albeit with some noise in the dark shadows of the picture. The same goes for well-lit indoor places equipped with bright lights, although less details are portrayed compared to when taking shots outside. On top of this, A34 5G offers a good quality 13MP front camera that produces decent pictures when taken outside or inside but not too close to the surrounding walls where less light creases detail and resolution inside, which is expected. In portrait mode however, the cutout of the main subject and background layer is so perfect that there is no need for depth camera.

Battery Life

Finally, let us analyze the battery performance of Samsung Galaxy A34 5G it promises a two-day battery life as per the claim of Samsung. This is, however, A34’s case is different since the phone can last more than 2 days inactive under standby without to engaging mobile game activities but just watching movies and scrolling on Instagram.
