iPhone 14 Pro Max Overview

iPhone 14 Pro Max is a premium device by Apple, announced on 7th September 2022 and to be released on 16th September 2022. The handset measures 160.7 x 77.6 x 7.9 mm and weighs 240g.  It has a 6.7-inch, LTPO Super Retina XDR OLED, HDR10, Dolby Vision Display with 1000 nits (typ), and 2000 nits (HBM) brightness. The display has a refresh rate of 120Hz. It uses Dual SIM and Dual eSIM. It runs on iOS 16 and is powered by Apple’s latest chipset, Apple A16 Bionic (4 nm).

The processing unit on the iPhone 14 pro-Max is Hexa-core (2×3.46 GHz Avalanche + 4x Blizzard). In terms of optics, the Pro Max features a dual selfie camera set up (12MP + SL 3D, (depth/biometrics sensor) and a Quad main camera set-up (48MP + 12MP + 12MP + OF 3D LiDAR scanner (depth). Body Build and Design

The iPhone 14 Pro Max is a beautifully designed, premium smartphone with outstanding features and aesthetics. It looks and feels excellent in the hand, being both big, imposing, and noticeable whenever you pull it out for a call, text, or chat on social media. The handset’s body is made of Glass front (Gorilla Glass), glass back (Gorilla Glass), and stainless-steel frame. The materials used make the device pretty heavy. Crash Detection

The entire iPhone 14 lineup introduces groundbreaking safety capabilities that can provide emergency assistance when it matters most. With a new dual-core accelerometer capable of detecting G-force measurements of up to 256Gs and a new high dynamic range gyroscope, Crash Detection on iPhone can now detect a severe car crash and automatically dial emergency services when a user is unconscious or unable to reach their iPhone. These capabilities build on existing components, like the barometer, which can now detect cabin pressure changes, the GPS for additional input for speed changes, and the microphone, which can recognize loud noises typified by severe car crashes.

Emergency SOS via Satellite

The iPhone 14 lineup also introduces Emergency SOS via satellite, which combines custom components deeply integrated with software to allow antennas to connect directly to a satellite, enabling messaging with emergency services when outside of cellular or Wi-Fi coverage. Satellites are moving targets with low bandwidth, and it can take minutes for messages to get through.

The initial questionnaire and follow-up messages are then relayed to centers staffed by Apple‑trained specialists who can call for help on the user’s behalf. This breakthrough technology also allows users to manually share their location over satellite with Find My when there is no cellular or Wi-Fi connection, providing a sense of security when hiking or camping off the grid. Emergency SOS via satellite will be available to users in the US and Canada in November, and the service will be free for two years.
